The first photo was taken on a trip to Hampi, a site of religious ruins from the Vijayanagar Empire. It was taken inside of the Virupaksha temple during a ceremony for Shiva. This woman was sitting with her children lighting candles and chanting.
The second photo shows a Muslim woman dyeing fabric in a textile factory outside of Jaisalmer in Rajasthan, Northern India. This woman was in the process of washing the dyed fabrics so that they could be set out to dry. Fields were covered in recently dyed fabrics that were lying in the afternoon sun to dry.
